FLAGS OF DEFIANCE TEXAS STYLE. SOME HISTORY
GONZALES - The Gonzales Flag, or the Come and Take It Flag, was created during the battle for Texas’s independence from Mexico. The flag's creation was based on a bronze cannon provided by the Mexican government and kept by Texas independence fighters. While one of the lesser-known events in American history, the history of the Gonzales Flag is a prominent part of Texas' formation. The Texans refused to return the cannon and then engaged, and defeated, a force of 100 Mexican dragoons on October 2, 1835 - with the banner flying beside the cannon. This was the opening battle in Texas' War for Independence.
CAPTAIN SCOTT'S FLAG - This flag was designed by Captain William Scott in 1835. It was used by those Texans who favored independence from Mexico. It was carried into the Battle of Concepción

BROWNS FLAG OF INDEPENDENCE - Tradition dictates this banner was flown by Capt. William S. Brown and his men at the Battle of Bexar and then again at Goliad where Brown was a signer of the Goliad Declaration of Independence.
GOLIAD FLAG - DIMITTS first flag. Phillip Dimmit was one of many Texans who changed their mind about reconciling with Mexico and by the time he left for Goliad in December of 1835, he was firmly for an independent Texas. This banner was used to celebrate the signing of an unsanctioned Declaration of Independence at Goliad on December 20, 1835.
TEXAS NAVAL Flag - The first ensign of the Republic of Texas adopted via executive order issued by President David G. Burnet on 9 April 1836. The Texas Navy was commanded by Commodore Edwin Moore. For three years the Texas Navy raided the Mexican coast and kept the Mexican fleet focused on defending its own coastline.
ALAMO FLAG - THE DIMMIT 1824 Flag was flown at the Alamo in February 1836 by Texian officer Philip Dimmitt. The flag was created to show Texas's allegiance/defiance after dictator Santa Anna abolished the constitution of 1824.
ZAVALA Flag - The first official flag of the Republic of Texas, designed by General Lorenzo de Zavala, adopted by the Convention held at Washington-on-the-Brazos, May 11, 1836, shortly after the victory at San Jacinto. Although legend has it...... Zavala may have never designed this flag.
BURNET Flag - Named and designed by the first President of The Republic of Texas, , was used from 1836 to 1839 as the national flag of the Republic of Texas until it was replaced by the currently used "Lone Star Flag" !
LONE STAR FLAG - Front Of Shirt - The Texas Flag Code assigns the following symbolism to the colors of the Texas flag: blue stands for loyalty, white for purity, and red for bravery. The code also states that the single star "represents ALL of Texas and stands for our unity as one for God, State, and Country".
