In our opinion, the Ft. Moultrie Flag is one of the most simple and beautiful American Historical flags.


Fort Moultrie Flag 3'x5' - in 1775, Col. William Moultrie designed a flag for his South Carolina militia.It was a blue flag that matched the color of his troops uniforms and a crescent that reproduced the silver emblem worn on the front of their caps.

"LIBERTY" represents the SC colonial troops' defense of the palmetto-log fort on Sullivan's Island against the British on June 28, 1776.

Made in USA

Nyl-Glo-100% SolarMax nylon for outdoor use.

Featuring white Polyester Duck heading and brass grommets.

Double needle seam with 4 rows back-stitch reinforcement.

One sided flag

The flag is not printed on both sides. So one side says "LIBERTY" but the other side is backwards. So this flag only works if it's hung on a wall, and looks silly if you're trying to fly it for real.

Great flag but printed quality lacking

The Ft. Moultrie flag has a great history to it so I was excited to add one to my historic flag collection. My other Annin flags, however, have a much better quality to them. The Nyglo seems much thinner than my other flags from this company - you can almost see through the fabric. It will be interested to see how long it holds up in the Texas sun.
